What Therapy Costs
Real ranges, published up front — and an honest explanation of what moves the number.
Most practices make you fill in a form and wait for a callback before anyone will discuss money. That is a waste of your time if the answer was never going to work for your family, so here are the actual numbers.
Every plan is priced case by case. That is not a hedge to avoid committing — it reflects that a 30-minute articulation session for a five-year-old and a 60-minute myofunctional program for an adult are genuinely different pieces of work. The ranges below are real, and where you land inside one depends on the factors further down.
Session ranges

What moves the number
Four things decide where you sit in a range:
- The condition and what it needs. A single sound error and a full myofunctional program require different amounts of preparation, materials and between-session work.
- Session length. Set at evaluation based on what your child can actually sustain — a distracted 60 minutes is worse value than a focused 30.
- How often you come. Families attending more than once a week sit at the lower end of the range.
- In-home or online. In-home sessions include travel time to and from your house, so they sit at the higher end. Online sessions have no travel and sit at the lower end — identical therapy, less overhead.
How families actually pay for this
The sticker price is rarely what an Arizona family ends up paying.
ESA (Empowerment Scholarship Account)
Arizona's ESA program covers speech therapy and the evaluation for eligible families. Many of our families fund therapy entirely this way. Funds are disbursed through ClassWallet, either paid to us directly or reimbursed to you. Full detail is in our FAQ.
Superbills
We do not bill insurance directly, but we provide superbills you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Whether you get anything back depends on your plan, so check your out-of-network speech therapy benefit before assuming either way.
Why not take insurance?
Because insurance-driven therapy means a claims department deciding how many sessions your child gets, caps that arrive mid-progress, and documentation time that comes out of treatment. Private pay keeps the plan between you and your therapist. It is a real trade-off — more cost up front, more control over the care.
